| Plaza 425 · · The Flood of 2008 | |
Sunday, June 15Today was the second day that the city supervised business owners as they entered their buildings through the skywalk system. The security was much tighter today. Brian waited for five hours in line to get into the building so that he could unlock the building and the individual floors for the tenants who were also able to get through. After a great deal of confusion about which check point to enter, being told he could not get inside, and finally access being allowed again, Brian and a handful of tenants and owners were allowed inside the flood zone. While other owners were getting necessary files and equipment out of the building, Brian was wasting no time in getting started with recovery efforts. He researched companies that could help with the initial clean up, contacted insurance agents and vendors in the building, put in calls to city officials, etc., etc., etc. The phone has always been an important part of Brian's business. However, it is now a constant. As he is on the phone with one individual or business, he often misses two or three other calls. Please be patient and try again if you are trying to reach him. |
