We went walked to the Fourth Avenue Parkade and entered the building on Saturday morning about 7am. We checked to see that the building was secured and then prepared to do some personal business for the day. Several people had called to set up at time to get into their offices. Brian had set the time of 1:00 pm to meet some of the owners and tenants to allow them to get some vital records and equipment from their office.

Soon the phone started ringing non-stop. It seems that the city had decided that all business owners could get to their buildings if they could be reached from the skywalk from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Unfortunately, we had been working late the evening before and not seen the news. No one from the city had let Brian know he need to be available at this time.

We returned to the building at 11:00am and spent most of the rest of the day there as tenants and owners gathered the materials that they would need to temporarily do business from other locations. After a "head count" to assure that everyone had left the building, Brian again ascended all 14 floor to check that the building was secure before heading home for the evening. If nothing else he will be in EXCELLENT shape by the time elevators are repaired!
