Week of June 23 - June 29Things have been happening very fast. It is hard to keep up with the job and the journal. We will try to hit the highlights. Cotton Restoration did an outstanding and efficient job of initial clean-up and demolition. All wet materials were removed before any mold problems could start. Thank you to Hector and the rest of the Cotton crew! First Class cleaning has been doing the detail cleaning after the Cotton crew left. Windows are washed and the flooded area has been HEPA vacuumed. Hawkeye Electric removed all breakers and cleaned all the panels to get ready for reinstallation of all new breakers. These arrived on Saturday, June 28. The guys worked Saturday and Sunday to install a new transformer. Jensen Wall systems have been recovering the I beams with triple layers of sheet rock, as the building was originally. They have rebuilt a couple of walls so that we can hang the electrical panels in preparation for power being restored. Air quality tests were taken on Thursday. We received news Friday afternoon that our building passed with flying colors. We have no concerns about air quality. In a meeting with Alliant Energy on Friday, several issue were resolved in regard to an electrical panel shared by Plaza 425 and the City of Cedar Rapids. We are finally able to order the parts needed to reconnect to the power grid. Our hope is by Friday, July 4, to have power back on in the Plaza 425 building. Thank you to all of our contractors who have gone above and beyond to help us get back in business. Thank you also to all our tenants for your patience and cooperation as we work to rebuild. |
